I was born in Ada, Minnesota, and went to high school in Marshall, Minnesota. I am an oral and maxillofacial surgeon who received my undergraduate degree in chemistry from Bemidji State and my Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the University of Minnesota in 1986. I did a four-year residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota and joined OMS in 1990. I am a Diplomate of the Board and belong to a number of organizations including ADA, AAOMS, MDA, the Minneapolis District Dental Society and ACPA.
I have devoted my professional career to removal of teeth, anesthesia, implants and grafting, and orthognathic surgery. To keep abreast of the latest developments in our specialty, I go to multiple local and national Continuing Education courses with emphasis on implants and have always exceeded the Continuing Education requirements of the State of Minnesota. Also, I am the Director of the 21st Century Study Club. I am a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Minnesota Cleft Palate Department.
My hobbies include golf, snowmobiling, skiing, snowboarding, working out, and traveling. I have been married for 22 years to Beth. We have three children, Charlie, Nils, Annika, and a dog, Bailey.
